Designer Crafts @ Chelsea 2008

PROPOSAL FOR CRAFT ASSOCIATIONS AND GUILDS

The Society of Designer Craftsmen would like to invite Professional Crafts Associations, Guilds and Groups to take part in the Designer Crafts @ Chelsea 2008 selling Exhibition.

Venue: Chelsea Old Town Hall
Dates: Thursday 14th October to Sunday 19th October 2008

The SDC has successfully established the Designer Crafts @ Chelsea exhibition, beginning in 2006 and developing in 2007. Plans are already being developed to enlarge the event, to broaden the audience and to present the event as a Premium Selling Exhibition for fine British Craftsmanship.

- Attendance up 42%
- Credit Card Takings up 31.5%
- Estimated Sales in 4 days £45,000+
- Largest Single exhibitors Sales £9,200

Marketing Plan 2008
In order to further develop the event a full review of the marketing campaign is underway.
Amongst plans for 2008 will be:
- Introduction of a targeted direct mail program
- Enhanced venue signage and graphics
- Focussed advertising program
- Extended PR activity with Mandarin PR
- Website development
- Re-focused market positioning
- Comprehensive Press Pack on CD Rom


Involving Craft Guilds, Associations and Groups
In order to ensure that the broadest possible spectrum of quality British crafts are available at the event, the SDC is approaching established crafts organisations and offering their members the opportunity to participate in the exhibition.
