A unique opportunity to work & learn to enamel on large scale steel panels is being offered by AJ Wells, in a new purpose built enamel factory on the Isle of Wight. Organised and run jointly by the Guild and the BSOE, the workshop will take place at the end of September, 2009. AJWells are one of the leading enamel panel manufacturers in the country, if not Europe, and have set up specialized workshop space for artists to produce large scale enamel work. Check out their website to view their profile and to see how artists have used their facilities. www.ajwells.com
Pat Johnson, an international artist/enameller, who has many years experience in this field of work, will be leading the workshop. To see some of her work please check out her website at http://www.sculptimage.com/PatJohnson/
This joint venture with the Guild of Enamellers and the BSOE is a rare and exciting opportunity to experience enamelling on a different scale. Facilities include a dedicated spray booth for our use only; large kiln firings throughout the day; experienced technicians on hand; silk screen facilities; pre-ordering sheet steel, laser cut, primed ready to enamel.
