UWE Bursary - Enamel on Metal

Twelve month bursary for a traineeship in enamel on metal at the Centre For Fine Print Research sponsored by the Newby Trust

Applications for this bursary are invited from candidates who have a demonstrable practice-led interest in enamel. The aim of the bursary is to retain craft skills within the field of enamel on metals for the Twenty First Century, although we are also interested in receiving applications from practitioners in other related disciplines who are interested in working in enamel on metal.

The project will be team supervised by Elizabeth Turrell, Professor Stephen Hoskins and Jessica Turrell and candidates should have an appropriate qualification at Postgraduate or Undergraduate level. The trainee will have access to the full range of new technologies currently available at the CFPR including rapid prototyping, laser cutting and wide format digital print.

In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to make a meaningful contribution to the subject area in the form of professional development teaching for industry and artists. They will be expected to take part in the Centre's seminars, exhibitions and conferences.

The bursary will comprise a stipend of £8,000 + travel and materials
