The Devon Guild’s Playing with Fire exhibition (organised in collaboration with the BSOE and UWE) will be the biggest presentation of the art of enamel to take place in the UK for many years.
The selected exhibitors have been challenged to produce exciting and innovative new pieces that take their work into new territories. So a visit to the exhibition (in the stunning new Jubilee Gallery, with its excellent Craft Shop) is highly recommended. A fully illustrated colour catalogue accompanies the exhibition.
There will also be a retrospective exhibition of Gillie Hoyte Byrom’s painted enamel portraits showing at the same time.
If you would like to visit the exhibitions with other BSOE members on the first day (Saturday 20th September), and have lunch together in the Terrace Café above the Gallery, please let me know so I can reserve a table for 12.30pm. (Purchase your own lunch and sit together).
Please let Melissa Rigby (social secretary) know by 18th September.
