PENLAND SCHOOL OF CRAFT - USA
Spring workshops from March 8, 2009 - May 1, 2009
Elizabeth Turrell - Add & Subtract: Creative & Experimental Surfaces in Enamel
We will create a range of enamel surfaces, from the very subtle to the most sumptuous, using the basic vocabulary of mark-making familiar to visual artists along with the additions of foils, textural materials, lustres, decals, and over glaze enamels. After each firing, we will explore the possibilities of revealing the underlying surface by abrading or stoning to subtract areas of enamel. With a focus on developing personal vocabulary and imagery, this workshop is suitable for beginning and experienced enamellists, painters, printmakers, and metalsmiths.
All levels. More info here - http://penland.org/classes/spring/spring_8.html
A complete spring & summer schedule of classes is posted on the Penland website.
