Pat Johnson - Summer Course

'Enamelling: Art and Craft'.
Tutor: Pat Johnson & Phillip Clayton Gore

25 - 31 July 2009

'The Summer School enamelling course, which lasts six days, will include a programme of demonstrations and work sessions showing how to produce images and designs on small panels and bowls, including standard enamelling procedures and the exciting practice of high firing. Since students on average complete between 10 and 20 pieces during this Summer School course, there is ample opportunity to try out a wide range of processes. Comprehensive instruction sheets will be given to all new students, and I will bring the thermal imager along for those who want to work with small silk screens.

At West Dean, it is possible for the class to continue from 9am to 10pm, with breaks for coffee, lunch, tea and dinner. This year I am sharing the teaching with Phillip Clayton-Gore, which means that one of use will always be able to offer advice and support.
